Georgetown is one of the fastest-growing communities in Central Texas, and it shows in the yards: century-old lots near the square with mature live oaks and established beds, and brand-new subdivisions on the west side that start with builder sod over compacted fill. Both sit on the same limestone-rich ground, take the same summers, and live under the same watering rules. We design for that rather than for a catalogue.
Dig almost anywhere in Georgetown and you hit limestone within a foot or two. That is good news for a patio base and bad news for a shrub that wants deep roots, so plant choice and bed preparation matter more here than they do on deeper soil. Where there is soil it is alkaline clay that swells in a wet spring and shrinks hard in August, which is why we build patio bases and edging to move with it instead of crack against it.
The two halves of town ask for different work. Around the historic downtown and the older neighborhoods off Williams Drive, the calls are usually about renovating tired beds under big trees, fixing irrigation that has been patched for twenty years, and adding a stone patio or fire pit to a yard that already has shade. In the newer developments the yard is a blank: thin builder sod, no beds, an irrigation system set to a default schedule. There we are usually doing the whole thing at once — grade, beds, plants, sod and the patio — so it is planned as one yard rather than added piece by piece.
Summer heat and periodic drought restrictions push most Georgetown homeowners toward native and adapted planting and, increasingly, toward xeriscaping the front yard entirely. Sun City, on the northwest side, has its own page because the community standards and the way people use their yards there are their own thing.

What landscaping and masonry services do you offer in Georgetown?
